The New York operation opened in October 2024. The party was in Istanbul, with the team that had built the company that was opening it.
We opened the New York operation in October 2024, to work directly with companies in the US while the product and engineering organisation stayed in Istanbul. The opening party was in Istanbul, with the Istanbul team, and it was themed as New York down to the street signs.
What the office actually is
It is not a flag on a map. It is where the North American clients come from, and within a year it had stopped being an office and become an operation: companies handing over a whole mobile product function rather than a specification for one app.
What it did not change is where anything gets built. Product and engineering stayed in Istanbul. That is where the 600 apps happened and where everybody who knows how they happened still sits, which is the reason the party was there.
I changed my name in the same year and for the same reason, which is a separate story and a longer one.
Everything else written here comes out of the same place: work done for other companies, at a volume that made the patterns visible.
